Bathroom furniture
The bathroom is an indispensable part of our homes, and we always want to make it as comfortable and subtle as possible. Unfortunately, not all of our interior whims can be realised due to lack of space or other reasons.
It's important to remember that only after careful and thorough planning and measuring will you get the bathroom you've always dreamed of, without flaws. Here are some tips on what bathroom furniture to choose and how to make sure you don't get lost in the process.
Shower or bath?
This is probably the most common question for new homeowners or residents who are renovating their homes. On the one hand, the bathtub is perceived by many as obsolete, while on the other hand, not everyone likes the shower. So how to decide? First of all, the space of the bathroom itself dictates everything: if space is at a premium, a shower enclosure, preferably a round one, is the way to go to save space. For bathrooms with small spaces, it is important that shower enclosures can be fitted with sliding doors, which is particularly important when you want to minimise the amount of space taken up by furniture. It is true that the bath itself can be placed in a small bathroom, in which case it should be located against the wall and the furniture should be quadrangular.
Here, if your bathroom is spacious and allows you to realise your interior design dreams, it is suggested that you use a bathtub instead of a shower. In a larger space, a bath will look graceful and elegant, and an unconventional shape such as oval or hexagonal will help to create this look. Placing the bath in the middle of the room will allow you to enjoy luxury and comfort.
Also, the question often arises: what material makes a bathtub durable? The first answer, of course, is that the most durable and longest-lasting bathtub is made of stone. On the other hand, the specificity and uniqueness of a stone bathtub is not everyone's cup of tea, which is why steel bathtubs are also advisable. The latter are not only durable, but also have a surface that warms up quickly, which ensures that the piece of furniture is easy to use.
It's important to remember that the colour and look of bathroom furniture also play a role in a seamless bathroom interior: darker shades will create an elegant interior, while light, bright furniture will bring vitality.
Toilet
Just as you can't imagine a bathroom without a bathtub or shower, it would be hard to imagine this room without a toilet. Over time, fewer and fewer homes have separated the toilet and the bath to make two separate rooms - in modern homes, the toilet and the bath form a single, slightly more spacious room. But the question still arises: should the toilet be fixed to the floor or fitted with a wall-hung toilet? On the one hand, wall-hung toilets are seen as a sign of modernity: they are low-maintenance, easier to maintain and aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand, ground-mounted toilets are seen as a classic option, so most people renovating their room are unlikely to want to make a radical change. In terms of spatial perception, wall-mounted toilets save more space and visually create a more spacious bathroom. If you have a small bathroom, a wall-hung toilet can be a real lifesaver.
Bathroom cabinets
As in every home, the bathroom is constantly filled with objects of dubious necessity, which take up space and visually reduce the space. To avoid this situation, it is important to have cupboards in the bathroom, whether they are hanging, built-in under the washbasin, or placed on the side.
In the bathroom, it is recommended to install wooden bathroom cabinets to create a feeling of lightness and grace. Wooden cabinets can be made in a wide range of shapes and sizes, and decorated with beautiful carvings. Wooden cabinets in the bathroom will not only create a cosy atmosphere, but also help to keep the bathroom clean and tidy.
....and other bathroom fittings
The essential and most important bathroom furniture is listed above, but obviously it doesn't stop there. Here it is important to pay attention to the water taps. There should be as many faucets as there are water sources in the bathroom. Choose the faucets rationally by calculating their height and the direction of water flow. Don't forget that the style of the taps is also important: minimalist taps are suitable for classical faucets, while modern taps are recommended for those who want a 'lively' interior.
Don't forget to brighten up your bathroom with plants or decorative items such as incense sticks, vases or even wall mosaics.
